At RAMU Children’s Centre, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and learning can happen in fun, interactive ways that engage both children and their guardians. Our
Play and Learn Services are designed to provide enriching experiences during school holidays that combine play, education, and community involvement. These activities not only nurture the intellectual and social growth of children but also create strong bonds between children, their families, and the wider community.
1. Fun Day Events
Our
Fun Day Events are a highlight of every school holiday, bringing together children and their guardians for a variety of play-based learning activities. These events aim to provide a break from the regular school routine while still nurturing important developmental skills in an enjoyable, relaxed environment.
- Interactive Learning: The Fun Day events are filled with activities that stimulate both the minds and bodies of children. From creative arts and crafts to problem-solving games and physical challenges, these activities are designed to encourage critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and communication. By mixing learning with play, we ensure that children are constantly engaged while reinforcing concepts they’ve learned in school.
- Strengthening Family Bonds: Fun Days offer a unique opportunity for guardians to actively participate in their children’s play and learning experiences. These shared moments help strengthen family relationships, as parents and guardians engage in games, workshops, and storytelling sessions alongside their children. Through these activities, we promote stronger parent-child interactions, ensuring that learning continues beyond the school environment and into the home.
- Contribution for Sustainability: A small participation fee is requested from families to help cover the costs of organizing these events. However, the fees are minimal, as the events are part of RAMU’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. By making these events affordable, we ensure that all families, regardless of their economic background, can access and benefit from these enriching experiences.
2. Community Outreach Activities
As part of our commitment to fostering socially responsible and compassionate children, our Fun Day events often incorporate
Community Outreach activities. These activities provide children with opportunities to give back to their community while learning important values such as empathy, kindness, and responsibility.
- Hands-On Community Service: During the Fun Day events, children and their guardians participate in various outreach activities, such as neighborhood clean-ups, visiting orphanages, and supporting local children’s centers. These activities give children firsthand experience in helping others and caring for their environment. Through participation, they develop an appreciation for community service and gain an understanding of the impact they can make, no matter how small.
- Fostering Empathy and Social Responsibility: By involving children in outreach from an early age, we encourage the development of empathy and social responsibility. These community service activities are not only designed to teach children the importance of giving back but also to instill a sense of shared responsibility for the well-being of others. Children learn to recognize their role within the larger community, fostering a lifelong commitment to social and environmental causes.
